Selling with Easy POS
Easy POS is a register in the browser. A cash sale becomes a paid Shopify order, and the order number stays on the screen. The app is in the studio and is not on the App Store.
Sign in with a PIN
The register asks for a 4-digit PIN. Enter it on the keypad and tap Login.
The Shopify admin password will not sign in. If the PIN is refused, the person may be inactive, or the digits may be wrong. Show the PIN again from Staff Management. Two people in the same shop cannot share a PIN.
Adding a new staff member is refused on the Free tier configured in the app. Pro and Advanced allow it. Someone already on the list can still be edited or deactivated.
Scroll the catalog
Collections are the first screen. Scroll to move through them. The register loads more as you go, instead of placing the whole catalog on screen at once.
Open a collection, then scroll its products. Use Collections to go back. If Product Search is on in POS Configuration, search by product name.
If a product has options, pick the option, then add it to the cart.
Take a cash sale
Tap Checkout. The only method is Cash — Pay with cash.
Enter what the customer handed over, or tap Exact Amount. Change Due updates before you finish. Tap Complete Payment.
The sale is created as a paid Shopify order and fulfilled as an in-store pickup.
Read the order number
The screen then shows the Shopify order number, for example Order #1001 completed.
Open Orders in Shopify admin and match that number. Pickup Desk Analytics lists recent sales and can filter them by the staff member who took the sale.
Choose collections and the pickup desk
In POS Configuration:
- POS Name is the name on the register. The default is Pickup Desk. The description is optional.
- Select Collections limits the catalog. An empty list means every collection.
- Hide empty collections leaves out collections with no products.
- Cash stays on. It is the payment method the register ships with.
Save, then reload the register before you judge what staff see.
Customize POS, and the Easy POS section in the theme editor, change the logo and colors. They do not change which products sell or how cash is recorded.
When a sale looks wrong, use troubleshooting before you remove the section from the theme.
