Basic Scheduling Guide

Learn the fundamentals of scheduling sections and blocks with Maestro Theme Scheduler.

Understanding Schedules​

A schedule defines when a section or block should be visible or hidden on your store. Each schedule has:

  • Target: The section or block to control
  • Start Time: When the change should occur
  • End Time: When to revert (optional)
  • Action: Show or hide

Creating a Simple Schedule​

Step 1: Choose Your Target​

Decide what you want to schedule:

  • Section: An entire theme section
  • Block: A specific block within a section

Step 2: Set Timing​

Configure when the schedule should run:

  1. Start Date & Time: When the change begins
  2. End Date & Time: When to revert (leave empty for permanent)
  3. Timezone: Ensure correct timezone is set

Step 3: Choose Action​

Select what should happen:

  • Show: Make the section/block visible
  • Hide: Make the section/block invisible

Step 4: Save and Activate​

Save your schedule and activate it. The app will automatically execute at the scheduled time.

Common Patterns​

Time-Limited Promotion​

Schedule a promotional banner to appear for a specific period:

  1. Create schedule for the banner section
  2. Set start time (promotion start)
  3. Set end time (promotion end)
  4. Action: Show
  5. Save

Seasonal Content​

Schedule seasonal sections to appear during holidays:

  1. Create schedule for seasonal section
  2. Set start date (holiday start)
  3. Set end date (holiday end)
  4. Action: Show
  5. Save

Daily Announcements​

Schedule daily announcements:

  1. Create recurring schedule
  2. Set daily start time
  3. Set daily end time
  4. Action: Show
  5. Enable recurrence

Best Practices​

  • Test First: Always test schedules with draft content
  • Plan Ahead: Create schedules well in advance
  • Use Descriptive Names: Name schedules clearly
  • Monitor Execution: Check that schedules run correctly
  • Have Backups: Keep manual control as backup

Troubleshooting​

If schedules don't work as expected:

  • Check timezone settings
  • Verify section/block IDs
  • Review schedule timing
  • Check app permissions
